Peperomia Watermelon
The Peperomia Watermelon has a low growth habit, averaging 25 to 30 centimeters in height. It is popularly named because the patterns on its leaves resemble watermelon rind. Its coloration comes in shades of green and slightly silver tones. The leaves are dense but delicate, so they should not be pulled, as they could fall off easily. The stems are maroon in color but are mostly hidden. The leaves are flat with a fleshy and satin-like appearance. The leaves are not attached to the blade by the edge but by a point on the underside, making them look like Chinese saucers in their elevation and presentation.
They are semi-succulents, so they can store some moisture, although not as much as succulents. Their stems are fleshy and reddish. There is also a mini version, where the leaves are very small, and the plant itself does not exceed 10 centimeters in height.
Peperomia Green Frog (Peperomia albovittata)
This variety looks like a small frog, even in terms of the size of the plant. Given the small size of the plant, it is suggested that the pot is also small. Its leaves are rounded and range from light green to dark green. It is a suitable plant for beginners in pot care, as well as for young children interested in gardening.
Its leaves are somewhat rounded in bright green, very strong and resistant. The plant measures between 10 to 25 centimeters in height. It has fleshy terracotta-colored stems. It purifies the air from toxins and has compact and even growth.
Peperomia Apricot
It is a highly attractive type of peperomia as it combines intense red edges with light pink. They are very popular in offices and workplaces because their need for direct light is very low. It is a pet-friendly plant, as it is non-toxic to pets, and it also purifies the air contaminated by methanols and formaldehydes.
Peperomia Napoli Night
It is characterized by the pointed shape of its leaves and its silvery green-grey color on the front, and pinkish or wine-colored on the back. Its leaves are fleshy, heart-shaped, not very rough, and light gray with dark green. It is small in size and has thick stems. Its plants are very compact and usually do not grow more than 20 or 30 centimeters in height.
Peperomia Milano
It is a mini-sized plant, barely reaching 10 cm in height. It looks a bit like the Napoli Night, but it is much smaller. Due to its size, it is ideal for terrariums. It is a new variety that has been very popular with growers because of its silver-green color with pink veins on the surface, which shines in the light. It is a dense and prosperous plant.
Peperomia Quadrifolia
It is recognized for its fleshy leaves. It has freckles or veins of various colors, making it very attractive for decoration. It is not a compact plant; on the contrary, its small leaves grow around a tall, slender stem, spaced apart from each other in a tender green color.
Peperomia Deppeana
It is light green in color, with small shoots at the tips that look like tiny flowers. It is best planted in a hanging pot, as its branches will grow downwards. Its leaves have a succulent-like appearance. It is being used as a centerpiece at elegant table parties.
Peperomia Hope
It is a hybrid between Peperomia quadrifolia and P. deppeana, discovered in 2007 in the Netherlands. Its roots are fine and its stems strong. It is a plant that has become fashionable, and perhaps for this reason, it is somewhat inaccessible and difficult to find in nurseries.
Its stems are trailing, so it looks great in a hanging pot or on a bookshelf. Its leaves are round, spaced apart along the stem, with very fine stripes on the surface. Although it is very delicate and subtle, it is also easy to care for.
Peperomia Prostrata
It is a plant that, in its place of origin, the humid forests of Central and South America, tends to be a climber. It is epiphytic, as it grows attached to tree trunks, especially in the right angles of their trunks, similar to orchids.
This particular plant is not easy to care for, as it requires a consistently humid environment. However, it is also a plant that adapts over time to its new home, and it is a matter of giving it the necessary time. Once it adapts, it will grow in an attractive green cascade through its long stems. Its leaves are round with attractive and striking patterns.
